PLU Guide
PLU Code Lookup
Find the correct 4-digit PLU code for common fruits and vegetables. Organic items use the same code with a leading "9".
How to Use This PLU Code Reference
PLU (Price Look-Up) codes are 4-digit numbers assigned by the International Federation for Produce Standards (IFPS) to identify fresh produce at retail checkout. Every major grocery chain uses these codes to ring up loose fruits and vegetables.
Conventional produce uses a 4-digit code (e.g., 4011 for bananas). Organic produce uses the same code with a "9" prefix, making it a 5-digit code (e.g., 94011 for organic bananas).
Use this table to find the right code for your product, then order custom PLU labels printed with your code, logo, and branding.
